We spoke to a few venues, but we knew as soon as we looked at The Cock O'Barton that it was the one. The space was perfect for what we wanted - an intimate ceremony and wedding breakfast with our immediate families, followed by a larger party in the evening with our friends joining us. From the beginning, Alethea was fantastic, fully supporting our ideas for the day and happy to go above and beyond for us. We were able to have some customisation to our wedding menu to reflect personal moments from our relationship, and she ensured we had enough space to have a soft play setup for our youngest guests. In the end, the marquee, function room and courtyard all looked beautiful, and the day felt very 'us'. The team at CoB were fantastically helpful with decorating and making sure the day ran smoothly. Even the little things, like making sure we each had a glass of water before the ceremony, go a long way to show the amount of care they put into you for your wedding day. Several guests commented to us on how great the staff were. I would definitely recommend The Cock O'Barton to anyone looking for a lovely intimate wedding. In short - beautiful venue, great food and drink, and an incredible team making it all work. We are so grateful to them for making our day so special.

Too overwhelmed with love to put into words how we're feeling. Still on cloud nine from what can only be described as the perfect wedding day. Thank you so much to everyone who played a part in making it so special. We cannot wait to see all of our pictures and videos in time, want to relive the day over and over. It was the best day ever for us. Everything was perfect and couldn't have gone any smoother. Thank you so much to the whole team for everything you did for us in the build-up and on the day - you were amazing from start to finish and went above and beyond for us.

We had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our wedding at the Cock O'Barton on Saturday and myself and my new husband can not recommend them enough to future couples. Back when we first enquired, a year ago now, we were able to come in and tour the venue and ask all of our questions. We were then given a fully transparent quote which was more than reasonable. It was actually the most affordable quote we had received in what is an incredibly expensive industry. We were wondering what the catch was but nothing ever came. That quote from the start never wavered and we were never pressured into going for any of the more expensive food and drink choices. Due to a fussy groom, they even went ahead and created a dish off the menu for us to offer guests without hesitation or extra charge. Nothing was too much trouble. We put in a tentative reservation as our chosen date was available, along with 3 rooms for us to reserve the night before so the bridal party could stay over. We were then given some time to mull it over with no obligation to go ahead and proceed with the booking. On our way out from that consultation, we happened to bump into a groom that was just arriving for his own special day. He passed on a glowing recommendation that matched the interaction we had and, despite it being the first venue we viewed, we promptly cancelled our other venue tours. We trusted our gut and knew we had found the one. Despite the beautiful venue and the reasonable pricing, what really sold it for us was the staff. Alethea has been on hand for every single question since our very first message and has gone above and beyond for us. She recently won an award for Best Wedding Co-Ordinator and we can absolutely see why. It was so very well deserved! Communication is so important when it's something so precious and she never missed a beat. She was waiting when I arrived the day before to check in and allowed me to help her with setting up decor to bring our day to life. She told me I was allowed to be a bridezilla if I wanted to and something wasn't right but honestly it wasn't needed, everything was perfect. Then on the morning of the wedding we were looked after by Jane, who made sure my dress was ready to go down the aisle and even went as far as to bring me a thoughtful glass of water as I was getting ready, knowing full well I absolutely hadn't been hydrating with my nerves so high! We were also very well looked after by Josh, who made sure that the wedding breakfast was going without a hitch and kept us both well topped up with drinks. He was one of the last people we saw in the evening and among the first we saw in the morning when we arrived for breakfast. Again, nothing was too much trouble. I feel bad that I didn't catch the names of all the other members of staff because they all deserve their own shout outs. Whenever they wanted to check something (like how we would like the cake cut for example) they would come and find us and swiftly get things done without causing any interruption. They just really knew exactly what they were doing. Every single member of staff working were incredible, not just to us, but to our guests too and they are such a credit to the venue. So many of our guests have spoken to us and expressed how fantastic the whole team were. They really made the day so special for us and have made a lasting impression. Thank you again COB for a wonderful wedding. You'll always be a special place to us now, not just because we got married there, but because of the experience we had with you.

I don’t even know how to stress this enough but the team at the cock O’Barton are second to none! We found this venue for our wedding on an app and after seeing quite a few we didn’t know what to expect. From our first meeting our first wedding planner Sian was so oranised and lovely, having prepared a two page document for us on costs and how the day could go. When we were viewing the private dining room we heard the chefs cheering and were told they were watching the football while cooking, we loved that! Everyone there clearly loves where they work and all are having the best time and it really shows and they are infectious to be around. Sian left the team part way through our planning and Alethea took over and I was a tad scared of the change but from her first message she was wonderful, the handover had already happened and she knew everything we wanted, she just knew from talking to us what vibe we wanted and she couldn’t do enough to make sure our day was perfect. The venue it’s self is just beautiful, the grounds are stunning and the rooms are beautifully decorated. But what makes this venue different is the team! From the wedding planners to the chefs and the bar staff, every single person were so nice and helpful, Alethea, Jane and Katie in particular really made our day what is was. Other venues seem to want something for everything but not this one, anything they could do for us they did, no hesitation This review could go on an on about how amazing this venue is but if you’re hesitant about booking here this is your sign to do it! Alethea - I have no idea where to start to be honest! From start to finish, you and your team have been amazing! Throughout the planning stages, nothing was too much trouble - even with my endless changes to the table plan at the last minute.
On the day, everything ran so smoothly, and I genuinely felt like I could relax and didn't have to think about anything. The food was delicious! Everything fed back from our tasting was taken into consideration and Chris and I really enjoyed it all.
I honestly cant thank you and your team enough - honestly, nothing was too much trouble! Even printing my speech last minute in the morning for me! The team made us feel welcome on the Friday, from the minute we checked in.
